Here’s a 12oz enamel-coated camping mug featuring my hand-illustrated Humpback Blackdevil fish (Melanocetus johnsonii), a truly excellent deep-sea species. Found at depths of up to 2,000 metres in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, this fish uses a bioluminescent lure on its head to attract prey in the pitch-black water. Its unusual, almost alien appearance reflects the incredible adaptations required to survive in the deep sea.
